I have downloaded the trial version of quicken personal 2013, but cannot transfer backup file to 2013.

I have Quicken deluxe 2009 and have downloaded the trial version of quicken personal 2013 but I cannot transfer the backup file to 2013. It says the QDF file is from a later version. can any one help please.
  • I have downloaded quicken personal 2013 trial edition for 90 days with key. All I want to do is transfer my data from quicken deluxe 2009 to the trial version. If it works then I will buy it, getting another key to unlock to full version.
  • No way, won't work..... read earlier posts in this thread!  ---You have to get Quicken Deluxe 2013--- .  Buying from Intuit is the expensive way to acquire Quicken.  Then you pay even more $ to get unlock key.  Get full refund for the Starter Edition, then go to and buy Quicken 2013 Deluxe.  Try it, IF you do not like it, you can get a refund on it for up to 60 days.
You will not be able to use Quicken 2013 Starter Edition. You must use Quicken Deluxe 2013 or higher, if you wish to move to Quicken 2013 and have access to that Quicken Deluxe 2010 data file.

Suggest you get a refund for the Quicken 2013.  do not pay to unlock the Starter as that is not $ sensible.

Quicken 2013 Starter Edition sells for $39.74 at and Quicken 2013 Deluxe sells for $44.07 at  Will only cost you $4.33 more to have Deluxe....

  • Besides, there is no trial version of Quicken.  They just have a very good 60 day return policy.
  • There is a trial version for 90 days, downloaded from their site.
  • Whose site?  Are you talking about the Australian version from Reckon?  If so, you will need to contact them.  Their program is different from the US version.  There are few Australian users hanging around this site.
